Have you met Piper?

Piper is a 5 year old Whoodle (Wheaten Terrier/Poodle cross). She has been with CAAWLS for 2.5 years. She absolutely loves doing her sessions and cries in excitement when she realizes she has arrived at a location she is familiar with. Piper visits groups of all ages with her mom Sharon.

Meet Piper and Sharon

“I am Sharon, a retired nurse and started volunteering with CAAWLS as soon as I could get Piper certified after COVID. I got involved when I noticed that Piper had such a strong need to interact with humans of all ages. I knew she was destined for this volunteer role when she approached a young nonverbal woman in a wheelchair, put her head in the girl’s lap and let the girl pet her. I am passionate about using dogs to help relieve stress and decrease anxiety. What I love most about volunteering is to see how excited Piper is when she gets to a location she knows. Her excitement is proof that she loves what she is doing.”

Keep your eye out for Piper at our next event, and make sure you give her lots of pets!
