Kate Schouten is a full time student at the University of Alberta and about to complete an undergraduate degree in psychology. She has a love and appreciation for animals, and along with her involvement in CAAWLS she volunteers at the Edmonton Humane Society. Kate became involved with CAAWLS in the summer of 2016 and became a board member shortly thereafter, and currently focuses on grant writing. Kate has an adorable bishon shitzu of her own named Live, and aspires to have a certified wellness dog in the future. Kate believes strongly in the healing and positive influence that animals have and hopes to continue into a career in psychology which incorporates animal assisted therapies.
